Microsoft Store and Full Access ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RedAction may be distributed through Microsoft Store as a free limited edition with an optional Full Access purchase. Purchasing the Microsoft Store version provides a convenient packaged build and support for ongoing development. The software remains licensed under GNU Affero General Public License v3. Recipients retain the rights granted by that licence, including access to the corresponding source code for this release. The Store entitlement check applies to the official Beartalk build. Recipients may exercise their GNU AGPL rights in independently built or modified versions. Nothing in this notice prohibits modification or circumvention of feature gates when exercising rights granted by GNU AGPL v3. Beartalk is not required to provide support, Store identity, signing, warranty or updates for modified or third-party builds. Microsoft Store services, accounts and commerce remain subject to Microsoft's own terms. Those terms do not replace the open-source terms that apply to the Software and its third-party components. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4. Third-party software ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RedAction includes separately copyrighted components under their own licences. Those terms continue to apply to the relevant components. Principal components include: * PyMuPDF 1.27.2.3 and MuPDF 1.27.2 - GNU AGPL v3. * PySide6 / Qt 6.11.1 - LGPL v3, GPL v3 and other applicable Qt terms. * Python - Python Software Foundation licence. * PyInstaller - GPL with a bootloader exception. * Pillow, OpenCV, qasync, winrt packages, python-docx, python-pptx, openpyxl, lxml and their dependencies - applicable permissive or open-source licences described in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt. What the Software is - and is not ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RedAction is an automated aid for detecting, reviewing and permanently removing selected information from PDFs, images and supported office documents. It is intended to assist workflows such as FOI, EIR, DSAR, HR, safeguarding and legal document review. The Software is not legal advice, data-protection advice, records-management advice or a substitute for human review. Automated detection can miss sensitive information or remove information that should remain visible. You must inspect every page and decide whether each disclosure is accurate and lawful. Verification records, confidence reports and audit certificates record software checks and reviewer actions. They do not prove legal compliance or replace a qualified human decision. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6. Privacy and local processing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ During normal use, document processing takes place on the Windows device. The application is not designed to upload document content to Beartalk. Microsoft Store may access the network for installation, updates, purchase and entitlement checks. Your responsibilities ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You are responsible for securing input files, output files, review evidence, devices and backups, and for complying with laws and organisational policies that apply to your processing and disclosure. This operational statement does not limit any right granted by GNU AGPL v3. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8. Warranty and liability ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability in sections 15 and 16 of GNU AGPL v3 apply. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or mandatory consumer rights. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9. Names and trademarks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GNU AGPL v3 permits copying and modification of covered copyright material. It does not grant trademark rights in the names Beartalk or RedAction, product logos or Microsoft marks.
